|Sunday, April 14|| 9:00 a.m and 11:00 a.m: Palm Sunday Service
Why did the shouts turn from “Hosanna!” to “Crucify!”? What do we learn about our own strengths and weaknesses as we embark on the journey to death and resurrection? Please take an extra palm cross for a friend or neighbour.
|Wednesday, April 17||12:00 p.m.: Midweek Holy Eucharist in the Library|
|Thursday, April 18|| 5:00 p.m.: Potluck Supper and Maundy Thursday Service
The term “Maundy” comes from the Latin word meaning mandate. At this service we are reminded us of the Great Commandment and our Christian mission statement —”That you love one another, as I have loved you.”
The Potluck Supper is followed by service in the Church and the removal of decorative items from the Chancel.
|Friday, April 19|| 10:00 a.m.: Good Friday Service
Although we find it difficult to think about the crucifixion, we must meditate on the cross to truly understand the forgiveness which is our gift from Jesus Christ.
This year we are observing Good Friday at Caledon East United Church.
|Saturday, April 20|| 7:00 p.m.: Easter Vigil
Between crucifixion and resurrection is a time of remembrance. At the Easter Vigil, we remember that “in the beginning” we were called into being through love and that in baptism and resurrection we find hope in God’s promise that “death no longer has dominion.”
Service in the church with a renewal of Baptismal vows.
|Sunday, April 21||9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.: Easter Sunday Services
Alleluia, He is Risen! Easter proves that only death will die and that we are called to resurrection life now and into eternity.
Holy Eucharist at both services, music at 11 am. Don’t miss the church decorated with symbols of resurrection and spring.
