While attempting to tell you more about all three of our charities, we are discovering more about each.

Did you presume that the Elizabeth Fry Society is an OLD charity which was set up to help women who have been in prison?  And, of course they do this, but there are so many other ways in which they help women.

One about which you might not be aware is their Sex Work Trade Transition Program. The goal is to assist women to permanently leave the sex trade and recover from the related trauma. They also assist victims of Sex Trafficking.  The Exit Doors Here program provides personalized wraparound services and time-based interventions for women wishing to exit the sex work industry as well as survivors of sex trafficking.

How fortunate we are that we can help so many diverse marginalized people by our Lenten donations to Choices, Elizabeth Fry Society and The Bridge.

Until April 1, you can drop or mail your cheque to the church or DONATE by e-transfer to Todd-treasurer@stjamescaledoneast.ca Please mark them ‘Lenten Donation’ – all eligible for tax receipt.
