Healing Sunday

The Diocese of Toronto is strongly recommending the wearing of masks in indoor public settings, including in our church buildings. (more information below)

People are welcome to come to the Communion Table to receive the sacraments of bread and wine.  Social distancing will be observed, with a max of 7 people at the altar rail.  Masks are optional. People can receive both bread and wine, or just bread.

If you are uncomfortable doing this, or find the three steps up to the Communion Table an issue, please just stand after the communicants have returned to their pews, and Mother Michelle will bring you communion.  If you would prefer to receive just a blessing, please cross your arms over your chest.

Together with Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, the other dioceses in the Ecclesiastical Province of Ontario and the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, the Diocese of Toronto is strongly recommending the wearing of masks in indoor public settings, including in our church buildings.  You will notice this Sunday that those serving in the chancel will be wearing masks.  Masking while in the church building continues to be optional.  However, the leadership team at St. James Caledon East strongly urges everyone to wear a mask upon entering.  As we come to the end of another difficult year, God grant that we not tire of caring for our neighbours, but rather work towards the Reign of Christ when all will be reconciled in Him and in true wholeness and health.
