Since 1996 Canadians have been marking National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21.  What we know as the summer solstice, was also acknowledged by the first peoples as the day of the year with the longest light; a day with great spiritual significance.

As part of our June 13 service, Howard Jones will give some background on an ongoing project to address the need for clean, healthy water for many Indigenous communities.

On Sunday, June 20 we will welcome parishioner Heather Whittier to lead our prayers.  Heather holds Indigenous status of Blood Sister Northern Cree and is a member of the Bear Clan.
